Events: Templates
Overview
Templates let you save a standard event setup and reuse it for future events. You can save a template from an existing event, or build one from scratch. Templates can include your proposal layout, order sections, recipes, contract, payment schedule, and timeline tasks — so you can hit the ground running every time you start a new event.

How to access Templates
Go to Events in the left-side navigation and click Templates.
Creating a template from an existing event
If you have an event that is already set up the way you want, you can save it as a template:
- Open the event.
- Click the three-dot menu in the upper right.
- Select Save as Template.
- Give the template a name and click Save.
The template will appear in your Templates list.
Creating a template from scratch
- Go to Templates in the left-side navigation.
- Click Create Template.
- Build out your template the same way you would an event — add sections, order items, recipes, a contract, payment schedule, and timeline tasks.
- When you are done, click Save Template.
Templates do not autosave. You must click Save Template to save your changes.
Publishing a template
New templates start as unpublished. To make a template available when creating a new event, you must publish it:
- Open the template.
- Click Publish.
Once published, the template will appear in the template dropdown when creating a new event.
Applying a template to a new event
When creating a new event, you can select a template from the Template dropdown in the create event panel. The template will pre-populate the event with your saved layout, sections, order items, recipes, contract, and timeline tasks.
Contact information and event dates are not copied from the template. Timeline task dates are carried over using relative time frames rather than specific dates.
Setting a default template
You can set a default template for each event type. When a new event is created with a matching event type, the default template will be pre-selected automatically.
- Go to Templates.
- Open the template you want to set as default.
- Select the event type it should apply to.
- Click Set as Default.
What carries over from a template
When you apply a template to a new event, the following are copied:
- Proposal layout and section order
- Design settings (fonts, colors)
- Order sections and items
- Recipes
- Contract text
- Payment schedule structure (amounts are recalculated based on the new event total)
- Timeline tasks (without specific dates)
- Inspiration board content
The following are not copied:
- Contact information
- Documents
- Specific event dates
Existing templates from classic events
Templates created in the previous events experience will not transfer to the new Events system. The data structures are different enough that they cannot be converted automatically. You will need to rebuild your templates in the new system.
