Events: Creating and Customizing Your Proposal

Updated

Overview

The customer view is where you build and customize the proposal your client will see. It's a live preview — as you make changes, you'll see them reflected in the proposal in real time. You can customize the layout, content, and appearance of each section, then publish and share the proposal directly with your client.

How to access the customer view

Open any event and click Customer View in the left-side navigation.

Design Settings

Click Design Settings in the upper right of the customer view to control the overall look and layout of your proposal.

From Design Settings you can:

  • See all sections included in the proposal
  • Drag and drop sections to reorder them
  • Show or hide sections using the eye icon
  • Rename or remove sections using the three-dot menu
  • Add new sections
  • Change the header font and body font
  • Change the page background color and proposal background color

Default proposal sections

Your proposal comes with the following sections by default. Click any section in the customer view to customize it — the settings for that section will appear in the sidebar on the right. Sections with a Full Settings option open their own dedicated page.

Cover

Displays your shop logo and a title at the top of the proposal. You can change the title, add a description, show or hide the logo, and set a background color or image.

Contacts

Shows who prepared the proposal and who the customer is. You can add additional contacts — either customers or employees — and mark any contact as internal only, meaning they will appear in your view but not in the client-facing proposal.

Timeline

Shows the event timeline to the client. Events you add to the timeline will appear here. Internal tasks will not. If you do not want the client to see the timeline, you can hide or remove this section. Learn more

Inspiration Board

A place to share your vision for the event with the client. You can add images from your computer, add links (such as a Pinterest board), choose a display style (Polaroid or circles), and add a color palette.

Proposal

Displays the products and pricing from your event order. To add or edit items, go to Full Settings. Learn more

Payments

Shows the payment schedule to the client. You can hide this section if you are not ready to share payment details yet. Clients cannot make payments until the proposal has been accepted. Learn more

Terms & Conditions

Your contract and signature request. You can write your terms and conditions, insert placeholders for details like customer name and event date, require a signature, and hide it from the client if needed. Learn more

Documents

A place to attach any documents you want to share with the client.

Store Info

Displays your shop information at the bottom of the proposal.

Adding new sections

To add a new section, click Add New Section in Design Settings. You will see a preview of each available section type. The sections you can add are:

  • Simple Cover — a smaller header with your shop name
  • Full Cover — a larger, image-forward cover section
  • Inspiration Board — add a second inspiration board for multi-part events
  • Additional Documents — attach more documents in a separate section
  • Store Info Footer — add another instance of your store information
  • Message — add a personal note to your client

Some sections can appear more than once — for example, you can have multiple inspiration boards. Sections like Payments and Proposal can only appear once.

Publishing and sharing your proposal

When you are ready to share the proposal with your client, click Publish to Client in the upper right. This creates a new version of the proposal and gives you the option to send it via email. You can CC additional recipients and customize the message before sending.

Your client will always see the most recently published version. If you make changes after publishing, you will need to publish again for your client to see the updates.

To share the proposal without sending a notification, click the share icon and choose Copy Link, Email, or SMS.

Version history

Every time you publish to your client, a new version is saved. You can view previous versions using the version dropdown in the upper right. You can restore a previous version if needed.

Payments are not versioned. Any changes to the payment schedule are visible to the client immediately.

Autosave

Your proposal saves automatically as you work. You will see a Saved confirmation at the bottom of the screen. You do not need to manually save your changes.

Other actions

Click the three-dot menu in the upper right to access additional options:

  • Save as Template — save this event as a reusable template. Learn more
  • Open Template — apply an existing template to this event
  • Duplicate Event — create a copy of this event
  • Cancel Event — cancel the event
  • Delete Event — permanently delete the event
