Getting Started with Uber Eats

Updated

Overview

BloomNation has partnered with Uber Eats so customers shopping in the Uber Eats floral category can place orders from your shop. When an order comes in, an Uber Eats driver picks up the finished arrangement from your shop and handles delivery — no delivery logistics on your end.

If you choose to enroll, orders will appear in your BloomNation Dashboard alongside your other orders, and you keep full control over which products you offer and how they’re priced.

Eligibility

To participate in the Uber Eats partnership, your shop must:

  • Offer in-store pickup — Uber Eats drivers need a location to collect from
  • Be located in the United States
  • Not already have an independent Uber Eats account — if your shop is already on Uber Eats directly, it is not eligible for the BloomNation partnership

Both retail florists and studio florists are eligible, provided they offer in-store pickup.

How to enroll

Note: The option to enroll is only visible to shop owners. If you don’t see the Get started with Uber Eats button, make sure you’re logged in as the account owner.

  1. Go to your Dashboard.
  2. Under My Shop, go to Partnerships.
  3. Find the Uber Eats section and click Get started with Uber Eats.
  4. A modal will open. Review the program overview and click Get Started to proceed.
  5. Choose how you want your products listed on Uber Eats (see Choosing your product listing below).
  6. Review your settings, agree to the Uber Eats partner terms, and click Enroll now.

Choosing your product listing

During enrollment, you’ll choose how your products are listed on Uber Eats. You can change this at any time after enrolling.

BloomNation curated

Our team selects your best-performing eligible products for you. This is the quickest way to get started — we handle the selection so you can begin receiving orders as soon as you’re live.

Specific products

Choose exactly which products from your catalog appear on Uber Eats. This option gives you full control from the start.

Either way, you can always go back and adjust your product selection after enrollment.

What happens after you enroll

Enrolling submits your application — it does not immediately put your shop on Uber Eats. After you submit:

  • Your status will show as Applied
  • You’ll receive an email when your shop is activated and live on Uber Eats
  • Activation typically takes one to four weeks

While you’re waiting, you can go to Partnership Products in your catalog to review and adjust which products will be listed.

Managing your Uber Eats products

After enrolling, you can manage which products appear on Uber Eats at any time.

  1. Go to your Dashboard.
  2. Select Catalog Products.
  3. Click the Partnership Products tab.
  4. Select the Uber Eats tab to see your current listing.
  5. Use the Actions menu to show or hide individual products from Uber Eats.

From this view, you can filter by Uber Eats-enabled, recommended, or all eligible products.

Product eligibility

Not all products can be listed on Uber Eats. The following are not eligible:

  • Inactive products
  • Cross-sell-only products (balloons, teddy bears, chocolates, and similar add-ons)
  • Products containing alcohol
  • Gift cards
  • Sympathy pieces made for a service — casket sprays, standing sprays, easel arrangements, and “for the service” arrangements
  • Products that are not available for in-store pickup
  • Products where every price tier exceeds $375 — if only some tiers exceed the limit, those tiers will not appear on Uber Eats but the product can still be listed

The following are eligible but not recommended for Uber Eats:

  • Tall arrangements
  • Products not available for same-day orders
  • Products with delivery turned off
  • Products hidden on both the BloomNation marketplace and your own website

Note: We read eligibility from your product’s recipe and settings. If a product has no recipe on file, it will show as recommended — you can still turn it off by hand at any time.

Payouts

Uber Eats orders are paid out through BloomNation the same way as your other orders. There is no separate banking setup required. Uber Eats orders operate on a revenue share model based on your product pricing — see the Partnerships page for details.

  • If you have instant payouts enabled, funds are sent to your bank account immediately.
  • If not, payouts follow the standard two-business-day schedule.

Unenrolling

You can unenroll from the Uber Eats program at any time from the Partnerships page. Note that removal from the Uber Eats platform may not be immediate. Any orders received during the unenrollment period must still be fulfilled.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is participation required?

No. Enrolling in the Uber Eats partnership is completely optional.

Who is eligible to enroll?

Any florist in the United States that offers in-store pickup and does not already have an independent Uber Eats account. Both retail and studio florists are eligible.

How long does activation take?

Activation typically takes one to four weeks after you submit your application. You’ll receive an email when your shop is live on Uber Eats.

Can I change my product selection after enrolling?

Yes. You can update your Uber Eats product listing at any time from Partnership Products in your catalog. Please note, changes may take up to 6 hours to be reflected on Uber Eats.

Will Uber Eats orders affect my existing website orders?

No. Uber Eats reaches customers who are already shopping on the Uber Eats platform — it does not affect traffic to your BloomNation website or your other order sources.

Will these orders appear in my third-party POS system?

No. Uber Eats orders are managed through your BloomNation POS only and are not sent to third-party POS systems.

Can I offer add-ons like balloons or chocolates on Uber Eats?

Not at this time. Cross-sell-only products are not eligible for Uber Eats. Only floral arrangements can be listed.

What happens if some of my product prices are over $375?

If only some price tiers (standard, deluxe, premium) exceed $375, those tiers will not appear on Uber Eats but the product can still be listed at the eligible tiers. If every tier exceeds $375, the product cannot be listed at all.

I already have my own Uber Eats account. Can I join through BloomNation?

No. Shops with an existing independent Uber Eats account are not eligible for the BloomNation partnership. You should remain on your own account.
